Rheumatological diseases and Spondyloarthritis can strike people in the prime of their lives. More than just aches and pain caused by aging, these are complex autoimmune diseases. Some of these diseases can affect major organs including the joints, brain, and nerve, heart and blood vessels, Lung, kidneys, and skin, causing serious complications that can be life-threatening.

Initial Symptoms of Spondyloarthritis

If left untreated, patients with spondyloarthritis may develop spinal fusion. Initial signs and symptoms of the condition include pain and stiffness in the lower backs. Especially in the morning and getting up from the bed. Spondyloarthritis may also be associated with pain in the hips and means fatigue, poor appetite, and weight loss. Patient states: I start having backache and feeling fatigue in the morning. I have to put in a lot more effort in doing daily routine activities. Research is important and will benefit patients like myself because as far as I understand the root cause of the condition is not yet determined. Only with that(research) early diagnostic capability and better treatment be able to come along for patients like myself.

Early Treatment

To regain and maintain the mobility of the spine and reduce joint inflammation, it is important to seek treatment early. Therefore, emphasis will be on exercises. The reason is to maintain spine flexibility and attention to good posture.
